REAL NETWORKS MEDIA PLAYER DOWNLOAD. TROUBLESHOOTING INFO, AND LINKS TO OTHER MEDIA PLUG-INS

UMKC Students: If none of this works, there are computers in the Bloch Computer Lab that stream video. You must bring your own ("walkman sized") earphones.

Go here  Real Network to find and set up or upgrade a Real player to see, hear and or fix your streamed video. If you have not updated your player, now is the time to do it. Look hard for the "Free Download" or "Free Player"  It is usually in very small print. At Real Network, you are enticed to  buy Real Media Products. You can get the  free player if you do not want one with bells and whistles.  This free Real Player  will do everything expected in this course.

When you download the Real Player and if you make it your default streaming player, anytime you access a hyperlink to a video or real audio source on a web site, Real Player will activate  and play the media you have requested.

All active real media files on this web site will be hot linked.

SPECIAL NOTES AND TROUBLESHOOTING

• 28 Modems are very slow and will not work to stream video.
• If you are a Netscape user, you need to use Micro Soft Explorer as your browser to use Real Player.  Real Player sometimes doesn't like Netscape.
• If the file won't play  and you have Real Media Player, you may have an outdated version of the player and need to replace with it a newer rendition to stream this video. See above and load the newer version.
• In some instances, folks have been unable to use company computers to  access audio/video streaming files or create downloads because of a company firewall restrictions.  Check with your company's policy before you assume something is wrong with your computer or this website.
