• Married to Catherine A. Heimovics, Ph.D., Director Outreach and Evaluation at Cookingham Institute of Public Affairs at  the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration. Daughter Meg Kumin (BA & MS, U. of KS) is a software engineer at the Natural History Museum and Biodiversity Research Center at the U. of Kansas. Her Jeff is a systems engineer (and nice guy) who keeps systems running at Seaboard Corp. Their little guy Eli is quite the fellow; his sis Jonna Kaia is a sweety-pie. Second daughter Sarah (BA, U. of Ks) is a NSF Graduate Fellowship recipient, now fifth year PhD student, Department of Zoology, University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a neural behavior endocrinologist...phew, short for the study of brain chemistry and behavior.
