Criteria for Coding Critical Incidents
1998-2003 Combined Percent of Total Frame Use: Coding Stories of Critical Organizational Incidents by MBA Students in BMA505 "Organizational Behavior"
Assignment: Think of an event in an organization in which you were a part that resulted in a successful outcome. Choose an event that you believe was important to the organization. Write a story and tell what happen, who did what, with what outcome. Describe the specific actions that you and others took. Be as descriptive and complete as possible. Don't worry about describing what you wish might have happened or what others or you should have done. Just tell us what happened. One way to think of this task is to consider this assignment similar to the work of a newspaper journalist who is trying to do nothing more than describe as clearly a possible an event for others to read, without any editorial comment. All we want to know is what took place, no need to editorialize.
