Color is psycho-physical phenomenon.  As one of the basic elements of design, it has been the subject of investigation by physicists, psychologists, physiologists, as well as by artists and designers.  We have been provided with a range of co lor perception acuity's, and it is each individual's choice whether or not to develop this gift for professional merit, artistic expression or sheer pleasure. The perception, translation and expression of natural hue from the environment can be devel oped to an art form.

Scientists are interested in the phenomenon of color because of its measurable
physical properties, while artists are concerned with the emotional or expressive
impact, which colors generate separately and in harmony.&nb sp; We will explore historical
and technical information about the eye and about human color perception.  Emphasis will be upon color, its expressive capabilities as hue, value, and intensity, and your fluid recognition and manipulation of these properties, diligently throughout each exercise.
