Mankind and the Monarch ButterflyClimate change and habitat loss impact many species. Because of its fragility, wildlife is often one of the quickest to suffer. An image oft seen is the polar bear floating on the small bit of ice. Or the panda bear suffering due to loss of habitat. These are powerful images. But what about those species less thought of? Their struggle to survive is just as important. Their small size and limited habitats act as a 'canary in the mine shaft' regarding climate change.One such species is the mighty monarch butterfly. |
